It has been months since I last blogged. We have had a house that has just seemed to be sick. One week or another one of us has been sick. I have been off for months now. I seem to be getting everything that is going around. So when I saw a post on Facebook the other week to start eating whole food I thought I’m going to take up that challenge. This isn’t a diet as I’m not on any restriction’s this is about simply eating more real food.
So I thought I would share with you day 3 in how I’m feeling….
This week was to focus on Breakfast. For me normally breakfast would consist of me having 2 cups of coffee while I get the kids ready for school and get myself ready to get out the door by 8AM. As you can tell the focus in the mornings is not on me but the little people in my life. I would never let the kids leave the house without breakfast so why was I letting myself do it and put my own needs aside. I’m a right that’s what we do. Well if I don’t look after myself than who will. So on Monday I decided that I was going to have breakfast each day. So we are now up to day 3 and I’m happy to say that…
Day 1. Porridge with frozen raspberries to cool it down so I could eat it.
This wasn’t a successful breakfast for me. I won’t go into details but it took for ever to eat.
Day 2. A mixed berry smoothie with a banana and chia seeds.
This was not only delicious but very filling and it was easy to sip as I went on with my normal routine.
Day 3. Scrambled eggs on homemade bread.
I had a lot of time today to make breakfast as we have a public holiday in QLD.
Eating breakfast is so important why have I been doing it wrong for so many years now. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit let’s see if this is true.
I would like to thank Lisa Corduff for putting the challenge together. She has been sending daily emails with tips and hints to try and help, giving lots of idea’s about what to eat.
What do you normally eat for breakfast?
